　　There are many times we do this in our lives，

　　they have already been committed to it for so many years.

　　他们多年来一直处在这样的恋爱关系之中

　　或者

　　what about sticking with a diet

　　坚持一种节食方法

　　(for weight loss)

　　（其目的是为了减肥）

　　that doesnt even work

　　却根本没有效果

　　but you already spent so much time

　　可是，你已经花费了如此多的时间

　　and money committing to it

　　和金钱致力于此时

　　that you dont want to let it go.

　　你不想放弃

　　I was encouraging a friend to try Intermittent Fasting

　　我想要劝说一个朋友尝试间歇性断食

　　but the protocol she was on

　　而她坚持的节食方法

　　encouraged eating small meals many times a day

　　却鼓励她少食多餐

　　(even though it didnt yield much results)，

　　but she spent too much time/money on it，

　　so she couldnt just let it go.
